Paving the Way to Pureland Zhichen Monastery Fund Raising Dinner and A Two-Day Teaching Program in support of Zhichen Monastery (June 7-9, 2008)
His
Eminence Zhichen Bairo Rinpoche, the father of His Holiness the
Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa and the 36th reincarnation of the
renowned and enlightened great translator Lotsawa Vairochana, is an
enlightened master of the Nyingma Kathog tradition.
It has been Bairo Rinpoche’s ultimate wish to complete the
refurbishment of his main seat Zhichen Monastery, located in Gulok
County of Sichuan Province.
Restoration of Zhichen
Monastery started since 2004, and through the very kind support
of many sponsors, the re-development of Zhichen Monastery has
taken shape quite smoothly. The following is
a brief update on the completion of the latest development:
| - | the construction of the main
temple |
| - | a 5-storey communal
building that will offer basic clinical services to some
200 villagers around, plus a meditation hall and meeting
rooms for resident monks and visitors |
| - | electricity connections |
| - | site drainage tubes |
| - | inter-connecting roads |
Throughout his entire life and even until today, Bairo Rinpoche
devotes most of his time and energy to help his only son, His
Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang Drukpa, to uphold the Drukpa
Lineage. His Holiness the Twelfth Gyalwang
Drukpa feels indebted to help fulfill his father’s wishes by
completing the refurbishment of Zhichen Monastery before the end
of this year, so that his father can go there and inaugurate it
before it becomes really difficult for him to travel.
Items in need of funds
include:
| - | interior
decoration of the main temple |
| - | fitting
out of the communal building |
| - | roofing and
fitting out of the completed cottages, and building of
some 30 more cottages for monks |
| - | road and
drainage tubes near the main entrance |
| - | landscaping
near the entrance |
We
hope to receive your support to help fulfill Bairo Rinpoche's
wish in this life time by completing the last phase of the
construction. A vegetarian fundraising dinner will
be held on Sunday, 8 June 2008. Your participation
and contribution is vital to make it a success!
