THE 3RD ANNUAL DRUKPA COUNCIL
Shey, Ladakh, India
With the theme "Sustaining the Spiritual Heritage and Legacy of Universal Humanity", the 3rd Annual Drukpa Council (ADC) will be held between 22nd and 28th Aug, 2011 in Shey, Ladakh, India, a fascinating region surrounded by ancient monasteries among snowcapped Himalayan peaks.
Ladakh, or the land of passes more than 3,000m above sea level, will play host to scores of Buddhists from across the world for the 3rd ADC, the world’s largest assembly of DrukpaLineage masters, scholars and tulkus, all sharing a common goal of spreading the 2,500 years old teachings of the Buddha.
The Council was founded to share ideas and strengthen relationships within the Drukpa Lineage, and exchange the richness of its spiritual legacy among lineage holders.
His Eminence Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche is the Chairman of the 3rd ADC while His Eminence Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche the Deputy Chairperson. Please read the special messages from Drukpa Choegon Rinpoche and Kyabje Thuksey Rinpoche on the 3rd ADC.
