1st Annual Drukpa Council
60 spiritual practitioners from Hong Kong attended Drukpa lineage’s 1st Annual Drukpa Council’ held in Druk Amitabha Mountain, Kathmandu, Nepal from April 8-15, 2009
This first of its kind holy event attracted over 10,000 serious practitioners and spiritual leaders of the Drukpa lineage from 67 countries. In addition to attending the tightly scheduled Buddhist teaching programs conducted by the many enlightened Drukpa masters who especially flew in to Nepal, Hong Kong participants also joined the ‘Live to Love’ activity with other international sangha and nuns from Druk Amitabha Mountain by delivering rice, clothing, blankets and school supplies to local villages in need. The moment of genuine happiness when we put our love and compassion into action was further rewarded by the many smiling faces of joy and contentment that were brighter than the sun and the sky.
